From My Heart

This blog is about a lifestyle - mine! My life isn't just about work, cooking, and travel.  I believe strongly in having good balance in my life. In the past I have been really unwell as a result of weeks of the flu and a heavy, stressful workload. It lead to a bout of Post Viral Fatigue, very unpleasant but thankfully behind me. This has caused me think about how I live and what things are important to me.

Food is important to nourish me and because I like it! Being lactose and gluten intolerant means that i have to mange what I cook and eat otherwise my body does not respond well.  Thankfully, it does not mean I have to starve.

I exercise regularly to keep my body strong and ready for the next adventure (there's always one out there, we just dont always bother to ask what it might be). While I am NOT a skinny minnie, I am fitter and stronger than I have ever been. I have been working out with Lisa at the fabulous Barbelles in Murarrie, they build strong girls.  Check them out.

Finding time regularly to focus on God is important to me. Taking time to reflect on my impact on others and the world I live in is not always something I prioritise but when I do, I usually learn something really valuable. Stillness and being present are states that I have come to value. Not easy for a "doer" but I find them a necessary part of living a full life.

Family and friends also fill a big place in my life.  I have amazing friends literally all over the world.  I am so thankful for each and every one of them and I love nothing better than to catch up when I am in their area or by Skype or mobile.  So, you might hear about one or two of them and how our lives impact each other as I continue on this journey called life!
